As
you make your way from your car toward the front
door of The Dunes Clubhouse, the trickle of a
small waterfall can be heard as you make your
way inside. The scene features large boulders,
a kiawe wood bridge, lush indigenous plants, and
vibrant and colorful Koa fish.
Once inside, the foyer’s walls set the
tone, with Koa-framed oil paintings of golfers
from the days of old adorn the walls, and teak
benches welcome you. Directly across from the
entrance are glass doors that face the first tee,
with the Iao Valley in the distance. Welcome to
The Dunes Clubhouse.
The Dunes Clubhouse opened in 2001. The 40,000
square foot plantation-style structure houses
The Dunes Pro Shop, men’s and ladies locker
and shower facilities, The Dunes Restaurant, the
Kiawe banquet room, the bar, the lounge, and the
food and beverage operation.
The Dunes Clubhouse faces Haleakala, where the
lighted parking, bag drop, and cart staging areas
are situated. The backside of The Dunes Clubhouse
faces the West Maui mountains, where huge windowed
doors open up onto an outdoor verandah that overlooks
both the first tee and the No. 18 green.
