This
is my favorite par-five on the course.
The wide landing area may fool some; the tee
shot is ideally hit to the left to avoid the trees
in the center of the fairway on the second shot.
The two very deep sod-revetment bunkers at the
base of the hill near the second landing area
will beg the question - is it better to have a
medium iron from a flat lie to an elevated green,
or risk at least one extra shot with the bunkers
and be left with an uphill lie with a short iron
to a hidden green?
Either way, the golfer needs to be creative -
the green is hidden and quite undulating. The
lack of any sand around the green increases its
difficulty as depth perception is needed here.
A par on this completely natural hole is well
deserved.
