This
long par-five finishing hole is not meant to be
easy. A par here will be well earned; a birdie
will be rare.
The tee shot is straight away into the trade
winds, and must be struck boldly to reach the
corner of the dogleg. The second shot is a classic
character-builder.
The large lake on the right side for the last
two hundred yards is like a magnet with the breezes.
However, a second shot hit safely to the left
chances two very deep and large fairway bunkers,
and will also leave an approach over two very
ominous pot bunkers guarding the left front of
the green.
The ideal second is as close to the water as
possible, but only the very brave will attempt
such a difficult shot. They will be handsomely
rewarded with a simple chip to a large and slightly
sloping green.
Anyone coming at the green from the left side
will also have to contend with the wind pushing
their shots toward the lake and a green which
slopes away and toward the water. A great match-play
finish.
