Is The Dunes a tough golf course?

That is entirely up to the golfer. Designer Robin Nelson made the course very fair, and very short. If a player thinks and manages their game, even with poor shots a good score can be had. It is only when players try to cut corners, or go for high-risk shots, that the course becomes very difficult.

Is there a hotel on property at The Dunes?

No. But, one of the best things about The Dunes is that it is in between both South and West Maui. This location make it easy for just about anyone to access The Dunes quite easily, and it is en route to the airport, Hana, and Upcountry for most tourists.
